Looking to delve into black metal

As the title says, I'm looking into black metal, I dig the sound but I don't want to just jump straight in. Any suggestions of what you guys would consider good, or bands you guys like would be good, that way I get a better frame of reference of what to look for and things like that.

For the most part right now i mostly listen to Death/Melodic Death (if that helps)
